I can't believe it!

I am totally overwhelmed by all the nice comments I got for my pillowcases -
92 - NINETY-TWO comments! I might have to take a screenshot!

I thank you all so much for your nice words, this really made my day, fighting with a mean cold, coughing and sneezing, and not able to lay down because I had to care for my kids.

It will take me a few days to answer you - especially as I will go to bed early today, but I will, promised!

In your words blog hop - the final day...

This blog hop was is (it is not over yet!) awesome!

so many wonderful ideas, so lovely ladies. And it even took us to countries like Malaysia and Sweden - isn't the internet an awesome technology?

This blog hop was organized by Madame Sam and Linda did the cheering - did you see her awesome coffee time quilt? And would't you love to have a coffee hours with the whole family and peanuts fresh from the field every day? I sure would!

So today is the final day of the

and on todays schedule we have these blogs to check out:

Wednesday, January 16
Quiltin' Jenny  (Jenny)
(Rosemary B.) at “that other blog
Dachsies With Moxie  (Agnes B.)

The German Mom  (Tina S.) <----------------------- (you are here!)
Christa Quilts (Christa W.)
Sew We Quilt  (Mdm. Samm)

So first a few words about myself:

If you thing my english sounds funny or if you find some errors: Yes, english is not my native language. I do my very best. But I have to admit that even my kids correct me every day. Sigh.
We moved to the San Francisco bay area 2 years ago, and we love it here.

This is my english blog, I do have a bigger, german one. I know most people just translate their blogposts in the other language, I tried that, too, but it just didnt work out for me. Either I make the concept and writing in english or in german, I just can't translate it phrase by phrase....

So, As I was thinking about my words, I remembered there was a birthday gift I had and wanted! to do, for my sister, who, last year, met a new love. She decided to move to his town.

So I thought that a present reflecting these two important events in her life would be a great choice for her birthday present.

Are you ready?

I had to take this picture, even though you might not see a lot, but: SHE IS BACK: the sun *lol*

Okay, so here are the two pillows I made:

It's all about love, isn't it?

Home - it is not easy to build a new home, in a new town, with new family members. But is much easier with some cozy, friendly things around you.

I got my new name labels, and I love them :-)
They are not woven, but printed, and they come as a sheet, you have to cut them yourself.

If you are german, there has to be some woven ribbon on your project.
This one is available for several german cities, and I took it as a small reminder of our hometown.

The back is simply some of the fabric I used for the f(r)onts

Thank you so much for stopping by, now head over to next stop on our blog hop,

Christa Quilts, before heading back to Madame Sam.

A last christmas, I mean: New Years present

each saturday, my dear coworker Otti drives me to school where we teach german.

Last time, she told me that after fracturing her arm bone, she still often has pain in it when the weather is cold or changing.

That reminded me off my beloved arm warmers, I bought 5 years ago, and which I still love and wear.
And so I made her a pair too:

grey wool felt, warming and comfy, and nice, Downton Abbey like details...

I hope she will like them.

Dont forget: the In your words blog hop begins on Monday (and I will be participating on January 16th - last, but not least, I hope *g*)

and on Sunday, January 6th, the new season of Downton Abbey starts at 9pm PST. I am so excited!

and I am going to participate in the

me and knitting? Oh my! But I will make it, I hope.

I choose the

(available here)

I hope it really is easy enough to me. I still have to buy wool and needles.
